I haven’t been updating anything for far too long. The problem with working on big projects is that even though I’m consistently pumping out work, I can’t really show anything off because it hasn’t been released yet. Here are a few of the icons I did for the context menu redesign on SmallWorlds. A pretty big job. Some more of the project can be seen on my site.

I haven’t painted in months. Moving across the world kinda got in the way. :) I spent a few hours today laying down some colours and it felt good. Work in Progress.

I haven’t posted anything in a long time. Sorry Tumblrs. I’ve had this finished for months, but didn’t want to post it until I got all the other characters painted. That’s not going to happen anytime soon, so I figure I should just post it already. :)
Pretty self-explanatory. My obsession with Sailor Moon continues. I wanted to create some realistic movie posters for a movie that I would love to see.

Tearsheets
I’m puttting together some illustration tearsheets. I’m committing a no-no by including an illustration that isn’t completely finished yet, but I’m happy with it’s progress enough that I wanted to include at least a part of it. ;)

Slowly chipping away at my illustration. Freelance is kicking my ass and of course, all I want to do is paint personal stuff instead of working on paying jobs. :|

Busy!
I’m alive, I’m alive.
I’ve been really busy lately and I don’t really have as much free time as I would like to work on personal projects. (Always the case) but I figured I would post two little process shots for stuff I’m working on. The town is a client project that I’ve really been enjoying, but has been eating up a lot of time. Looking forward to the final product though. :)

Just a bit of process for a painting I’m chipping away at from time to time. I’m finding myself taking this approach more frequently - just laying down some colour and building up the forms without a working sketch or lineart. It doesn’t allow for much planning, but the results are sometimes pretty rewarding.

I’m going to be 30 in a few years and I’m not the least bit ashamed to admit that this video gave me goosebumps. That show defined my childhood. :*)

Thanks! I hope I can start cranking out some more art soon. I’ve just been so busy with my job that I never have the energy to paint in my free time. :|
