    Tokyo Nights

I never did end up posting this online, though I realize I posted some process shots of it all over the place. The illustration changed in concept many times, but ultimately, I was trying to paint something dramatic and horror-esque. I figured I would reference Japanese yurei but I took it in my own direction.

I didn’t push their expressions as much as I could have, but I was mostly focused on communicating a sense of weariness and melancholy. I liked the idea that the girl is recently dead, but just can’t let go of the man she loved. He loves her, but wants her to let go so he can get some sleep. ;)

    A few close-ups below.
